July 1 to 14 are the dates for the campaign, but there will (hopefully) be much follow up after the 14th.  The Ubeda church will be involved in the activities ranging from blood bank (good way to say we’re not JW’s), Bible expo., unicycle show, city litter clean-up, basketball tournament, films and theatre, puppets, music concert…so please be praying.  We will be adding info. and photos to this as the 2 weeks goes on.

Sunday night ended another spectacular show by Dustin. He did a great job in performing, sharing a little, performing more, sharing more and ending with a great illustration showing how Jesus frees us from our sins.  The great thing was how the crowd was prepared for us to go to them and start conversations. Last night I was able to share with 3 men, but tonight, I had fantastic opportunities and great conversations with 4 different groups; the first was 2 high school boys one was open and interested but the other antagonistic until we had talked a while, they left after hearing the gospel and both took a Gospel of John. Next a group of 4 morrocan men, all kind and glad to talk. It was easy to share with them the Gospel and they listened with interest. I left a Gospel of John with them. Then a group of 2 boys and a girl, again, receptive and open to listen, one was a neighbor of our missionary friends. Lastly, Mary and I walked up to a couple engaged in checking each others fillings, they stopped and so we approached them and shared for a long time the beauty of the Gospel, how God wanted them to know him and experience the peace that comes through the forgiveness of sins and a personal relationship with God. Juan and Eeu (short for something) (21 yrs and 20 yrs old )had never heard any of the Gospel before, NEVER! They both listened very intently as I told them how Christ died for them.

We left PRAISING the Lord for those we had been able to share with, Mary stopped and shared with a group of older women on the way back who were admiring our boys but we had run out of information that we were handing out, fortunately, we had one last tract and they received it with big smiles.

We are frankly kind of amazed and see incredible results from the prayer base that has been done and is still going on. Thank you so much for praying. KEEP praying, we have  a whole week left and many more great activities that will open doors for more sharing. OH how I hope to see some of those that I have been able to share with.

From Nate…It is 15 minutes after midnight, we, the whole family just got home  after a busy day of evangelism activities. We started a basketball  tournament today that will last 4 days. I played my best and got  crushed.   Me and two others got schooled by 3  spaniards who must play all the time.

Tonight I shared with  a man then a 15  yr. old boy named  Paco. I find it such a joy to talk to people and  share.  Pray that I can infect the other youth with the same zeal to share  the Lord.

On the 3rd night of Bible festival/ basketball tournament….Nate shared with Juan Jo the gospel.  He is 12 and came alone to the event 2 nights in a row, very interested.  Nate drew over some christian youth to share their testimonies and pray with him so they could be part of the joyous occasion of Juan Jo becoming a Christian!  Pray for him, as we know the joy he feels will be attacked by the devil…but that he will stand firm and grow.

We have found that in our neighborhood, the parents are happy to let their kids out for hours, and we find many at our house.  They have been playing with Lincoln Logs, doll house, “music concerts”, then I had an idea….

We lugged up art and craft supplies to the back patio and started art and craft ministry.  It has been a hit, as we have our steady 3 little neighbors (Arturo, Leonor, & Marta) returning day after day.  We say “hasta manana” (see you tomorrow) when it is time for them to leave (usually late) and they are usually reluctant to leave and often return before we’re ready.  I wonder what their parents think when they return after hours with craft projects (basic ones).  I have had brief talks with parents but I think they are mainly happy someone is “babysitting” their kids so they can clean their house and they haven’t shown much interest to get to know us.

This fun may stop when we will need to change focus to the evangelism campaign in Baeza.  We have continued school in the morning but find our afternoons/evenings involved in the neighborhood.

Orcas friends

yes, we all enjoyed this special day. My brothers and sisters worked very hard on prepping things to have a special day for ma and pa.  Around 90 guests total visited and celebrated enjoying delicious food and good fellowship.  It was great to see folks that  I hadn’t seen in years.

After that I hopped over to Orcas for a few days and spent good time with friends and family there. Now I am in Redmond and speaking with Pastors, mission leaders, and friends about our work in Spain. I am starting to get that deer in the head lights look. (good thing they have coffee in Seattle haha).

Here is a photo of my family all but one sis made the event and many grandkids blessed the property too.

Youth.work/Baeza evangelism campaign:
Pray for the Baeza campaign July 1 to 15 and follow-up.
We had a youth BBQ at our home to fellowship, worship, share testimonies, learn some flamenco steps, and eat together.  We meet on Saturdays, Sunday Bible study & church, and some meet Fridays for worship practice (Sierra & Andrea are involved in this).  As summer is quickly approaching, we will be meeting more frequently.  The youth are an integral part to the evangelism campaign in Baeza.  They have been memorizing Bible verses and working on their testimonies.  Baeza is a city of 15,000 close to Ubeda where the Ubeda church hopes to do a church plant.  There are 3 known believers in Baeza, 2 of which are missionaries on our team.Financial need
Faith stretching and decision making.

As mentioned in the last e-newsletter, we find ourselves with insufficient monthly support (60%).  Four factors have affected our support and created this need.  1.  Weak U.S. dollar to the strong euro.  2.  Loss of some support.  3.  20% increase in mandatory CAM health insurance.  4.  Higher cost of living in Spain than anticipated.  We are praying for a substantial change by the end of July, which will help us know how to plan out the rest of the year.  As Nate will be in the States sharing in churches and home groups, we hope to see this need met to avoid a fund-raising furlough for the whole family or other decisions we may have to make.   Please pray with us concerning this need which has brought stress and a time of reflecting upon the need in Spain while considering the needs of our family.  Thankfully, we have a God who can provide, is never in crisis and is always in control of the outcome.  We just heard from one church that will be increasing their giving and another church possibly able to support us.  Thank you for praying!
